Md Mohammad Ali (65), a resident of Subidpur village of No. 5 Subidpur Union of Nalchiti Upazila, complained that he went missing after Maghrib prayers on September 7. The family of the victim filed a general diary (GD No. 312) in Nalchiti police station on 8/9/24 without finding any information.
But after 16 days without any trace, the children of missing Muhammad Ali held a press conference at Nalchit Press Club today, September 22, every Sunday at 1 pm.
Meanwhile, his daughter Lucky Akhtar complained and said that on the day of the incident, my father finished the Maghrib prayer and went out of the house naked with torch light and mobile phone. It is mentioned here that he performed the Maghrib prayer in the mosque located in our house. That day he himself led the prayer. This matter was told to us by the devotees.
Before my father disappeared on 03/09/2024, my cousin Md. Nayan Hawladar and Ripon Hawladar, both fathers: deceased-Ah Quddus Hawladar, both of them talked about the marriage ceremony together and took them to his uncle’s house in Barisal in an auto-rickshaw. Although there was no ceremony. Later they kept my father overnight and sent us home the next day.
After our father went missing on the 7th, when we asked our cousins about it, they said that we will find your father, give us two days. There are two witnesses to their statement.
The day after my father went missing, his used shoes were found by our neighbor Jainik Md. Son of Akbar Ali Howladar. Kalam Hawladar found it abandoned on Heringbon road near our house and handed it over to us. It is mentioned here that my cousins were at home on the afternoon of our father’s disappearance, but they were not at home on the night of the incident.
Another thing to mention here is that we had a land dispute with the said cousins from before.
We think my cousins are involved in my father’s disappearance. We are seeking foresight from all including the administration so that we can get our father back.
However, when asked over the phone about the complaint, Ripon Howladar did not agree to give any proper answer.
Murad Ali, officer-in-charge of Nalchiti police station, said that a GD has been received regarding the disappearance, and our investigation is on.
