RAB-10 arrested 01 drug dealer along with 102 bottles of phencidil while carrying drugs in passenger seat from Kotyali police station area of Faridpur district.
Since its inception, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has been playing a leading role in bringing all types of criminals under the law to maintain the overall law and order situation in the country. RAB has been conducting regular operations against militants, terrorists, organized criminals, armed criminals, robbers and narcotics. RAB has continued its anti-narcotics campaign to eradicate drugs with the slogan “Let’s go to war, against drugs”.
Following this, a raiding team of RAB-10, CPC-3 Faridpur camp came to know through secret information that a drug dealer disguised as a passenger in a passenger bus from Chuadanga to Barisal had left for Faridpur with a consignment of drugs. On the basis of the said news, RAB-10, CPC-3 Faridpur camp said raiding team established a temporary check post at Badarpur area under Kotyali police station of Faridpur district on 22nd September 2024 at approximately 09:15 am. Shortly after that at approximately 09:30 when the said bus reached in front of the RAB check post, the RAB members signaled the bus to stop and the driver of the said vehicle stopped the vehicle. Then the female RAB member on duty at the check post searched a woman inside the bus and arrested the said accused along with 102 (one hundred and two) bottles of Phencidil worth approximately 3,06,000/- (Three Lakh Six Thousand) from a bag under her feet. The arrested accused is identified as Halima Begum @ Moyna (34), husband Md Taiyab Ali, Sang-Khorki (Gazir Bazar), Thana-Kotyali, District-Jesore.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the arrested accused is a professional drug dealer. He had been collecting phensidyl and other narcotics from various border areas of the country for quite some time and supplying them to Faridpur and surrounding areas.
A drug case was lodged against the arrested accused: handed over to the concerned police station.
