Anti-discrimination student movement in different districts Sarjis Alam, Central Coordinator of Anti-Discrimination Student Movement commented that many people are spreading misinformation on social media saying that the arrival of the coordinators is a political visit.
He made this comment after exchanging views with the family members of the martyrs in Shariatpur on Wednesday afternoon.
He said that coordinators are not visiting the district to hold any political or organizational meetings. The coordinators of the anti-discrimination student movement visited the district from the place of responsibility to the families of martyrs in the student movement. Still, negative posts on social media about the issue hurt us.
Meanwhile, he requested the government and local administration to provide financial assistance to every family martyred in the student movement as well as to create employment for at least one person from each family.
The coordinators prepared the list of those killed and injured in the movement from the exchange meeting which started from 12 noon. The government has already formed a fund of 100 crore rupees to help the dead and injured. Sarjis Alam assured support from this fund to every family of injured and killed in succession.
Earlier, the central coordinators held a meeting with the district and upazila level coordinators at 11 am. After the meeting with the political leaders of the district, Sarjis Alam and the central coordinators addressed the rally at Shariatpur Government College and University ground at 4 pm.
A total of 10 central coordinators along with Sarjis Alam came to Shariatpur at 10 am.
