At least 10 passengers were injured when a bus lost control and fell into a roadside pond in Joypurhat.
The accident took place around 11:30 am on Sunday in Bankhur area of ​​Jaipurhat-Hili road.
The injured are Delwar Hossain of Kuatpur village of Panchbibi upazila of the district, Halima Begum, Alemon Bewa, Liton of Sarabai Para village, Nadira Begum of Chhota Manik village, Sanwar Hossain of Kuatpur village, Jannatun of Bheramara upazila of Kushtia, Rebecca Begum of Bankhur village of Kalai upazila, Hasan Ali and Emran Hossain.
Joypurhat Sadar OC Humayun Kabir said that a bus named ‘AB Paribahan’ lost control and fell into the pond while coming to Joypurhat from Heli with passengers. The injured passengers were rescued at the scene and admitted to Joypurhat General Hospital. No casualties have been reported so far and rescue operations are underway.
