Three passengers were sent to hospital with suspected empox at Jinnah International Airport in Karachi, Pakistan. On Sunday (September 15), Geo News reported this information in a report citing sources.
Sources said that these suspects were returning to Pakistan from various countries in the Middle East.
All the three passengers have been shifted to Sindh Government Infectious Diseases Hospital and will be kept in isolation ward till the test report.
A total of 6 people have been found infected with Mpox in Pakistan this year. Most of which are in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Mepox is a virus that causes flu-like symptoms and sores. This infection can also lead to death. However, children, pregnant women and people with weakened immune systems are at greater risk.
