One person was killed and one injured in a truck-motorcycle collision at Nalchiti in Jhalkathi. The accident took place on Wednesday (October 28) at around 11:30 a.m. in Baritla area of Bhairabpasha union of the upazila on the Jhalkathi-Barisal highway. The officer-in-charge (OC) of Nalchiti police station Md. Murad Ali confirmed the matter.
In the accident, a person named Md Riyad Talukder (24) was killed and his friend Piyal (22) was injured and is undergoing treatment at Jhalkathi Sadar Hospital. Locals said that at 11:30 in the afternoon, a motorcycle headed for Barisal collided with a truck going to Jhalkathi in Baritala area, and the motorcyclist and his passenger were seriously injured.
Later, with the help of locals, two injured people were rescued from the spot and taken to Jhalkathi Sadar Hospital, where the doctor declared Riyad Talukdar dead.
