A case was filed in Rajbari’s Baliakandi Administrative Court on Sunday afternoon against 10 people, including former Railway Minister Jillul Hakim, OC, on charges of torture and extortion after the abduction of a Chhatra Dal leader. The case was filed by Md. Tuhinur Rahman, member of the central committee of Zia Smriti Library and former joint general secretary of District Chhatra Dal.
The accused in the case are former railway minister Zillul Hakim, former officer-in-charge (OC) of Baliakandi police station Abu Sama Md Iqbal Hayat, joint general secretary of Baliakandi upazila Awami League and former upazila chairman Ehsanul Hakim Sadhan, vice-president of upazila Awami League Naib Ali, Nashir Uddin. Nazrul Islam, Upazila Awami League vice-president and former upazila chairman Abul Kalam Azad, Narua Union Awami League General Secretary and Narua UP Chairman Zahurul Islam, Narua Union Awami League Joint General Secretary Md. Kalam, Jillul Hakim’s son Mitul Hakim and 3 unidentified people.
Tuhinur Rahman, the plaintiff in the case, said that on January 12, 2014, he was abducted, disappeared and attempted to be killed with torture for extortion. Tortured him and demanded a ransom of 10 lakh rupees. 5 lakhs and handed it over to the court in various cases. He has to be treated in different hospitals in the country and abroad. Acting Chairman of BNP Tariq Rahman bore the expenses of his treatment. Still can’t stand up straight. He filed this case because the environment of the country is good.
Rajbari District Bar Lawyer and Member Secretary of District BNP Adv. Kamrul Alam said, during the Awami League government, it is far from anyone to seek justice, no one could say two words for justice. The plaintiff in the case could not file the case.
