Case against 6 people including former OC in Pirojpur

Former Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Pirojpur Bhandaria Police Station. A case of extortion has been filed against 6 people including Asikuzzaman.

On Wednesday (August 21) at noon, Sutrapur Thana BNP Vice President Md. Miraj Sikder filed the case in the court of Pirojpur Senior Judicial Magistrate as the plaintiff.

The court took cognizance of the case and directed the PBI to investigate.
The other accused in the case are Bhandaria Police Station Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Hiron, Bhandaria Joy Bangla Oikya Parishad League President Nadeem Sikdar, Upazila Dhawa Union Awami League Education Affairs Secretary Abul Sikdar, Bhandaria Upazila Jubo League Relief Affairs Secretary Mamun Sikdar, upazila Babu Talukdar is the former chairman of Ikri Union Parishad.

Advocate Md. the plaintiff’s lawyer in the case. Ekram Ali Molla confirmed the matter and said that 6 people including the OC of the police station have been accused in this case.

According to the source of the case, on November 20, 2023, at around 11 o’clock, 2 policemen from Bhandaria Police Station, the plaintiff in the case, Sutrapur Police Station BNP Vice President Md. Miraj takes Sikdar to the police station after talking to the OC of the police station.

Plaintiff Miraj Sikder along with those two policemen reached the police station around 11:30. Then OC Asikuzzaman took him to the roof of the residence next to the police station and demanded Tk 5 lakh from Miraj Sikder.
Otherwise, he threatened to make him accused in several false cases. Plaintiff Miraj Sikder requested OC Asikuzzaman and assured him that he will not file a case if he pays Tk 250,000. The plaintiff was detained in the police station till the payment of the fine. Later, when the plaintiff was going out of the Miraj Sikdar police station, the other accused who were outside demanded another one lakh taka, and the plaintiff gave them taka 20,000 and fled to Dhaka fearing for his life.
In this regard, the plaintiff said, on Wednesday (August 21), when he went to file a case against the defendants at the police station, he suggested that the case should be filed in the court instead of the police station case.

In this regard, the former officer in charge of Bhandaria Police Station (OC) said. Asikuzzaman said such a false case was filed against him to harass him.

Accused OC Ashikuzzaman is currently working in Dhaka Armed Police.
