Earlier on Monday, the President appointed four judges of the High Court Division to the Appellate Division.

It is to be noted that six judges of the Appellate Division, including Chief Justice Obaidul Hasan, resigned in the face of the demands of the protestors on August 10 after the fall of the government in the students’ movement. After that, Syed Refat Ahmed, the senior judge of the High Court Division, was made the Chief Justice. The Appellate Division judges again stood at six with the appointment of four more judges on Monday.
