Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) has stated that to realize the dream of building a well-governed Bangladesh under the leadership of the youth, it is necessary to create an environment to achieve appropriate state reforms and national political settlement.
At the same time, the organization called for the construction of a democratic, discrimination-free, non-sectarian, transparent and accountable state structure through radical reforms of the state structure to meet the expectations of the students.
TIB believes that the youth will lead the demand for building a well-governed Bangladesh with the guarantee of voting rights, justice, human rights, freedom of expression and freedom of the media. In that way, the interim government has to create an environment suitable for realizing the dream of state reform and achieving national political settlement.
In a press release on the occasion of International Youth Day on Monday (August 12), TIB Executive Director Dr. Iftekharuzzaman says these things.
He said, we have witnessed the downfall of an authoritarian government in exchange for unprecedented loss of life and sacrifice through an unprecedented coup led by young students. This coup proves that the irrepressible, irrepressible youth cannot be kept in power by ignoring or oppressing them. All political parties and all concerned parties should learn from this movement – not to suppress the power of youth, but to build a state system suitable for ensuring the fair human rights of the people.

He also said that the young generation participants associated with TIB have made several recommendations on the occasion of International Youth Day-2024 considering the youth population as the main driving force of national achievement.
Among these recommendations are – to be committed and proactive in building a new Bangladesh based on the aspirations of the youth, non-discrimination, equality and merit-based, democratic, accountable, well-governed, discrimination and corruption-free; Build a state structure that is capable of building a human rights-based, public welfare, participatory and inclusive democratic ‘New Bangladesh’ with freedom of speech and free media, following the lessons of the defeat of long-cherished corrupt and corrupt politics; The entire institutional structure should be overhauled by stopping the partyization of state and constitutional institutions, so that these institutions never become tools for the government’s lack of power.
The recommendations of the TIB also include ensuring exemplary accountability for multi-dimensional and multi-stage unprecedented and brutal human rights violations, in this case, ensuring national and international acceptable investigations and ensuring exemplary punishment of the guilty by setting up a fully independent commission under the initiative of the United Nations.
Also ensuring institutional and legal frameworks to guarantee fundamental rights such as right to protest, freedom of assembly, freedom of media and freedom of speech; To permanently block the acquisition and expansion of illegal wealth through the use of public office and public representation as a license for corruption; Determining effective strategies to permanently stop the fascist-style shutdown of the Internet and social media as one of the mediums of information, speech and expression.
