HSC exam postponed indefinitely

The postponed HSC and equivalent examinations have been postponed indefinitely. Nothing has been informed about when the schedule of these postponed exams will be published.

This information was known from the order issued by the Secondary and Higher Education Department of the Ministry of Education on Wednesday (August 7) ​​around 1 pm. It was signed by Syed A Z Morshed Ali, Deputy Secretary of the Ministry.

According to the order, in view of the letter from the Dhaka Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, the HSC and equivalent examinations to be held from August 11 have been postponed due to unavoidable reasons. New schedule of postponed exams will be announced later.

Earlier, when asked about the matter at around 1 pm, Inter Education Board Coordinating Committee President and Dhaka Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board Chairman Professor Tapan Kumar Sarkar told Jago News that there is no situation to take the exam now. That is why it is not possible to take the postponed exams in the new schedule. We have informed the ministry about the situation. They will issue orders accordingly and notify the matter.

Shortly after this, an official order was issued by the Ministry of Education to suspend the ongoing HSC and equivalent examinations for an indefinite period.

HSC and equivalent exams of all education boards except Sylhet board started on June 30. After 8 days of examinations as per routine, all examinations on July 18 were postponed due to the situation surrounding the quota reform movement. After that, the government suspended the examination for three more rounds.

According to the schedule, there are still 13 days of exams for a total of 61 subjects. So many exams are stuck due to different subjects of different departments. Although every student has to appear in 13 subjects. Among these four subjects of Bengali and English (first and second paper) and ICT are compulsory. 8 subjects are optional.

All the latest exams have been postponed and the new time table has been released from August 11. Accordingly, the written examination was scheduled to be completed on September 8. However, the boards said that there is no opportunity to examine the resignation of the government led by Sheikh Hasina in the mass movement and the current situation. Following the advice of the board officials, the HSC and equivalent examinations have been postponed for an indefinite period.
