The Lebanese armed group Hezbollah said it had carried out repeated attacks on Israel. Hezbollah launched a series of drone and rocket attacks in northern Israel on Tuesday (August 6) local time. But it does not end here. More attacks are coming. Israel killed one of their top commanders last week. The armed group also warned that it would be severely retaliated against.

Hezbollah said the attacks were carried out in several locations, including two military bases near Akri in northern Israel. It is also claimed that a military vehicle was attacked in another location in Israel.

Meanwhile, Israel’s military said several drones were detected heading towards Israel from Lebanon and one of them was shot down. Several civilians were also reported injured in the attack in the southern town of Nahariya.

The Israeli military said in a statement that sirens sounded in the town of Akari. A Hezbollah source told Reuters news agency that it was yet to respond to the killing of its top commander Fuad Shukur.

Earlier, Israel killed a top Hezbollah commander in an attack on the southern outskirts of Beirut, the capital of Lebanon. At least one person was killed and several others injured in an explosion at the Lebanese armed group’s stronghold in the city of Daheeh.

The Israeli military says its intelligence-based elimination operation targeted Fuad Shukur from warplanes. Israeli officials claim he is responsible for rocket attacks on the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights.

Last Saturday (July 27) 12 people, including children, were killed in a rocket attack in the Golan Valley occupied by Israel. It was the deadliest attack on Israeli-occupied territory since the October 7 attack by Hamas. At least 29 others were injured in the rocket attack on a football field in the Golan Heights village of Majdal Shams.

The attack comes after four members of the armed group were killed in an Israeli strike in Lebanon. However, Hezbollah has denied involvement in the attack. Meanwhile, Hezbollah and Israeli forces have retaliated against each other, causing renewed tension in the Middle East.
