Vaulter Armand Duplantis, the Swedish pole vaulter secured the gold medal at this year’s Olympics by jumping 6 meters. But he did not stop there. He was addicted to making world records.

The previous world record was also held by Armander himself. This pole vaulter set the record by jumping 6.24 meters in April this year.

This time he jumped more than 1 cm. Armand narrowly failed in the first two attempts, but in the third and last attempt, Armand set a world record by crossing 6.25 meters.

The 24-year-old athlete broke the world record nine times with this. He also won gold in Tokyo Olympics, won this time too.

USA’s Sam Kendricks won silver in this event with a jump of 5.95m. Bronze went to Greece’s Emmanuel Karalis with a jump of 5.90m.

Armand, who won the historic gold, said, ‘I cannot express this moment in words. These things don’t really seem true. What can I say? I broke the world record in the Olympics. The biggest stage for a pole vaulter. It was my childhood dream to set a world record in the Olympics.
