Rajshahi University (Rabi) teachers’ network held a silent march in protest against the killing of students across the country by tying red cloths over their faces. At this time, university and school-college students took part in the silent march. Law and order forces in civil dress tried to forcefully pick up the students after participating in the silent march. However, if the teachers stood in the way, they could not arrest the students. These incidents took place on Thursday (01 August) at 11 o’clock in the University’s Martyr Intellectual Square. It can be seen on the surface, the network of teachers took out a silent procession from Rabi’s Martyr Intellectual Square to protest against the killing of students across the country. Later, after circling the important roads of the university, this incident happened when he went in front of the martyr intellectual square. However, the law and order forces could not arrest the students when the teachers stood in the way. At that time, there was a scuffle between the law enforcement forces and the students to get the students out. The students alleged that they had come to protest peacefully. But after the silent march suddenly wanted to take them away by force, they asked the help of the teachers. The students complained that both of them were arrested.
To learn about this, Labanya, a student of Barindra Medical College, said, “We took part in the silent march peacefully with the teachers, but the law and order forces in civil dress hit us. Tried to take my brothers by force without reason. What is our crime? We are not accused in any case, so why arrest us. We came to this silent march today after talking to the coordinators. Abdullah Al Mamun, a professor of mass communication and journalism who participated in the silent march, said, “You don’t have any documents to detain the students.” It is wrong to detain someone on suspicion. You can never do that. After that, we will not accept it if a student gets hurt and my colleagues get hurt. Students will come to the campus, so the police administration cannot pick up any students like this. There is no case in their name that they are accused. Do your work.

But if an external student enters the campus then they enter the campus. Currently my students are at home as the campus is closed. We never want any student to be harassed. After we found out, we took all the students to Kajla Gate and dropped them in the car.
