Ansar and Village Defense Forces have started tree sapling distribution and tree planting program in Shariatpur.
On the instructions of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Director General of Ansar forces, Major General AKM Aminul Haque, this ancient Ansar force of the country has planted local fruits, forest and herbal trees to make the plantation campaign successful.
Today Monday (July 29) at ten o’clock in the morning Shariatpur district commandant of Ansar army. Mainul Islam initiated this program by planting tree saplings. He then distributed saplings among Ansar-VDP members.
The government has taken the initiative of greening Bangladesh to protect the balance of the environment. Ansar and Village Defense Forces are said to have planted trees in the district to keep the country’s climate favorable.

Mainul Islam said, we are planting trees in different districts under the instructions of Honorable Director General Major General AKM Aminul Haque, BAM, NDC, AFWC, PSC, PhD. Today we planted trees with members of Ansar VDP in Shariatpur. According to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s instructions, we are planting trees to protect the balance of the environment. I encourage everyone to plant trees. Trees give us oxygen. Without trees, we have no other way to live healthy. Trees are benefiting us in various ways including keeping the temperature right. We will plant trees and encourage our members to plant trees and tell the people of the country to plant trees whenever they have the opportunity.
Ansar and VDP Training Center planted 707 saplings of fruit, forest and herb trees in six upazilas of Shariatpur district.
Circle Adjutant Abdul Mannan Mia, Naria Upazila Ansar-VDP official Abdur Rahim, Vederganj Upazila Ansar-VDP official Tahmina Akhtar, Sadar Upazila Ansar-VDP official Nasreen Sultana along with six upazila Ansar-VDP party leaders, Ansar-VDP officials participated in the tree planting program. Member and Battalion members were present.
