Dhaka College student Hasnatul Islam Fayaz’s remand has been canceled by court

Hasnatul Islam Fayyaz, a first-year HSC student of Dhaka College, who was arrested in a case filed by the police on charges of clashes and vandalism in the capital recently [Jatrabari Police Station Case No. 72(07)24], was produced on 27/07/2024 in the CMM Court of Dhaka, and the investigating officer requested a remand request. In view of this, the court granted a 7-day remand. On this day, the accused was claimed as a child, but the court granted remand as he failed to produce proof of age.
Today (July 28) in the Dhaka CMM Court, as the accused Fayyaz submitted the age proof (SSC and birth certificate) in support of his claim as a child, the court suspended his remand and sent the accused to the concerned children’s court for hearing and order regarding the determination of the age of the accused.
After the hearing today, the Children’s Court declared the accused Fayaz as a child, canceled his remand and ordered to send him to the Child Development Center.
