The death toll in a fire at a multi-storey building in Kuwait has risen to 41. It is feared that most of them may be expatriates. Originally, expatriate workers lived in the building that caught fire. According to Kuwait Times, about 160 people lived in the building. They are all employees of a company.
Qatar-based media Al-Jazeera reported that 41 people have died so far in the fire in Kuwait. However, the nationalities of the casualties could not be confirmed immediately. The fire has already been brought under control. An investigation has been started to find out how the accident happened. Deputy Prime Minister of Kuwait Sheikh Fahad Al-Yusuf Al-Sabah visited the scene. He blamed the greed and negligence of the building owner for this tragedy.
Sheikh Fahad said, unfortunately, such incidents happen due to the greed of real estate owners. The deputy prime minister ordered the arrest of the owner of the building, as well as the security guard and the owner of the company whose employees lived there, Kuwait Times reported. Earlier, on Wednesday morning (June 12), a terrible fire broke out in the building in Mangaf area of ​​South Ahmadi Governorate of the country.
Many expatriate Bangladeshis are working in that area. It has not yet been confirmed whether any Bangladeshis were injured in the accident.
