Prominent businessman and social worker Shahinur Alam Shaheen has created a buzz among the Muradnagar vice chairman candidates in the upcoming 6th Upazila Parishad elections. He is at the top of the campaign in 22 unions of the upazila by getting the Tubewell symbol. According to sources on the ground, the vice chairman candidate Shaheen is a resident of Gangerkot village of Andikot Union No. 3. He is involved in hotel business along with oil pumps in Saudi Arabia. His brother Mahabub is the 2nd ward member of Andikoot Union. Shaheen has created a unique example in human service by providing employment to 500 people in his own company in Saudi. 300 of them are residents of Muradnagar.
These people are playing an important role in keeping the economic wheels of Bangladesh moving by working abroad and sending remittances to the country. Vice Chairman candidate Shaheen said, if I am elected, I will work for the overall development of Muradnagar upazila with the government allocation and my own funds.
Drugs and terrorism in the society are created only from unemployment. So my main aim is to identify these unemployed and provide them with employment. I will fully cooperate with the development of the upazila including the re-opening of the traditional Siddhirganj market. It should be noted that Muradnagar Upazila Parishad elections will be held on May 29. Although there is no strong competitor for the post of chairman in the election, there will be a three-way fight between the vice chairmen. In this case, social worker Shaheen is very popular. His other rivals are Habibur Rahman (aircraft), Syed Tanveer Ahmed Faisal (spectacles), Atiqur Rahman Helal (locks) and Abdullah Nazrul (tea bird).
