DSHE Instructions on Martyrs Day and International Mother Language Day

February 21 (Wednesday) Martyrs Day and International Mother Language Day. The Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (MAUSI) has asked all schools and colleges to adopt their own program in line with the national program to observe Martyrs’ Day and International Mother Language Day.

In an order issued by the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education on Monday (February 19), government and private schools and colleges including English medium educational institutions were instructed to observe the International Mother Language Day and Martyr’s Day. The order has been sent to the headmasters of all government and private schools, college principals and field level education officers. Instructions to follow-

Educational institutions have been asked to keep the national flag of correct color and size at half-mast. And in keeping with the day, the students have been asked to present their poems, stories and creative writings and their pictures on the Sheikh Russell wall of the educational institutions.

Maushi says that on Great Martyrs’ Day and International Mother Language Day, all educational institutions and educational offices, including English medium schools, should keep the national flag of correct color and size at half-mast. The national flag should be hoisted at half-mast at sunrise and lowered at sunset. All educational institutions and educational offices, including English medium schools, will pay their respects at Shaheed Minar on the morning of February 21 to commemorate the martyrs of the language movement.

All educational institutions, including English medium schools, will adopt their own programs in keeping with the national program to observe the day with due dignity. And the students will write poems, stories and creative writings and draw pictures in keeping with the day and present it on Sheikh Russell wall.

The order signed by Rupak Roy, assistant director of the department, also said that all educational institutions and education offices, including English medium schools, have been asked to conduct these programs on the occasion of Great Martyrs’ Day and International Mother Language Day.
