10 injured in attack by plow supporters at Dub Marker Mass Communication in Dumki

In Dumki in support of Bangladesh Congress candidate Mo Nasir Uddin Talukdar’s dub marker in Patuakhali-1 constituency in the 12th National Assembly election, Ripon Howlader (40), Mansoor, was ambushed by supporters of Jatiya Party candidate ABM Ruhul Amin Howlader’s plow marker. At least 10 people from both sides were injured, including Alam (33), Shahin Gazi (31), Md. Bellal (35), Shahidul Islam (24). Locals rescued the injured and sent them to Upazila Hospital, Patuakhali Medical College Hospital and Barisal Sherebangla Medical College Hospital.

The incident of attack and violence took place in the fish shrine area of Dumki upazila around 7:30 pm on Thursday. According to eyewitnesses, 35/40 leaders and activists of local A-League and allied organizations under the leadership of Patuakhali District A-League Vice-President Abul Kalam Mridha and Joint General Secretary Babu Soumendra Chandra Chand Sailen organized mass communication and leaflet distribution in Pirtala Bazar of upazila town in support of Dub Marker. was doing At that time, under the leadership of Upazila Jatiya Party President Masud Al-Mamun, more than two hundred plow marker worker supporters launched an ambush. The attack disrupted the mass media of Dub supporters and at least 10 people from both sides were injured in the sporadic clashes.

After receiving the information, the police came and calmed down the situation. Locals rescued the injured to Dumki Upazila Hospital, Patuakhali Medical College Hospital and seriously injured Ripon Howladar was shifted to Barisal Shere-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital.

A-League Md. Sahidul Islam Howlader and Md Yunuch Ali Mridha said that when the district leaders started mass communication in the market to encourage the common people to vote, some Dub supporters distributed leaflets behind them. During this time, supporters of Langal attacked and injured their workers and supporters.

Upazila Jatiya Party President Masud Al Mamun denied the responsibility of the attack and said that after the pre-arranged march of plow markers, when they were going to distribute leaflets in the market, when the Dub supporters faced each other, the two sides clashed.

Officer-in-charge of Dumki police station Tarek Md. Abdul Hannan confirmed the truth of the attack and said that the situation was brought under control after receiving the information. Now the situation is calm. However, no written complaint has been received from any party in this incident. If there is a complaint, legal action will be taken.
