Barrister Muhammad Shahjahan Omar Bir Uttam, Awami League’s nominated boat candidate from Jhalkathi-1 (Rajapur-Kantalia) seat, which was recently expelled from BNP, said that there will be an election but the opposition party will try to boycott the election. However, there should not be an opposition party in this region as I I have joined this party. There will be no opposition party in Barisal division. Sheikh Hasina trusted me and gave the boat. If those who do not come to my current party, abuse against the party, the leaders, speak bad words, then the result will not be good at all.
He said these things while addressing the chief guest of the election exchange meeting at the Rajapur Kanudaskathi Islami Complex ground on Saturday (December 23) afternoon.
Shahjahan Omar also said that the democracy of Bangladesh, the democracy of British, Utopia and Japan are not the same. Democracy is applicable to any country that will manage the state according to the needs of the people of the country. 99% of the people of our country are illiterate. Democracy is necessary for the country in which the people are educated. The people of the country do not sleep without eating at night. The people of the country sleep under one roof. The people of the country read paper newspapers and have an idea about the world. Democracy for them, what is democracy in my country. The democracy of our country will be what the people of this country feel, what they want. The people of our country want to live happily and peacefully.
