Lalmonirhat-2 victory rally on foot of social welfare minister Nuruzzaman Ahmed constituency

Minister of Social Welfare Nuruzzaman Ahmed received a call from the boatman’s assistant returning officer and canceled the motor showdown and held a victory rally on foot.

On Tuesday (December 19) afternoon, the rally left the ground of Aditmari GS Model Government High School in Lalmonirhat, went around different roads and met again at the same place.

Social Welfare Minister Nuruzzaman Ahmed, the candidate for Lalmonirhat-2 (Aditmari-Kaliganj) Constituency, led the rally.

Social welfare minister Nuruzzaman Ahmed has participated in the voting in Lalmonirhat 2 (Aditmari Kaliganj) seat as the nominated candidate of Awami League in the coming 12th National Parliament election.

Adimari Upazila Awami League organized victory rally in motorcycle showdown on Tuesday afternoon.  It was also announced that the victory rally will go around the 8 unions of the whole upazila, according to the demands of the activists who came.

Therefore, hundreds of thousands of leaders and activists from 8 unions of the upazila gathered at the Aditmari GS Model Government High School and College ground before noon with hundreds of motorcycles.

Assistant Returning Officer, Upazila Executive Officer Noor-e-Alam Siddiqui warned Social Welfare Minister Nuruzzaman Ahmed over the phone that preparations are being made for a massive showdown in the name of Victory Rally.

Later, the boatman, the minister of social welfare, withdrew from the motorcycle showdown.  Later, he made a short speech in that field and did a victory rally on foot.  However, before that, organizing secretary of upazila Awami League, assistant personal officer of the minister, Mizanur Rahman Mizan, told the activists that there may be a violation of the election code of conduct, so as per the instructions of the minister, we will hold the victory rally on a small scale and on foot.  He urged the leaders and activists not to raise boat slogans.

However, at the end of the ceremony, the minister’s assistant personal officer, Mizanur Rahman Mizan, said that our minister is very confident in the law.  Showdowning may violate the electoral code of conduct.  So a short victory rally has been made.

In order to continue the trend of development, Minister of Social Welfare Nuruzzaman Ahmed called on everyone to ensure the victory of the boat in the upcoming elections to put Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina back in power.

Assistant Returning Officer Aditmari Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Noor-e-Alam Siddiqui admitted that he called to stop the showdown and said that it is not legal for any candidate or candidate to march or showdown using a motor vehicle or any other vehicle during the election.  Therefore, on the instructions of the Deputy Commissioner and Returning Officer, when the matter was reported to the Minister on his mobile phone, he turned it off and started a rally on foot.
