International Standard University and Mahmuda Rahman Welfare Trust have distributed winter clothes and blankets to the needy in Comilla’s Barura.
Barura Executive Magistrate Moin Uddin spoke as the chief guest at the opening ceremony of this winter clothing distribution in front of the Upazila Parishad building at 11 am on Tuesday, December 12. Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Kamrul Hasan Sohel spoke as a special guest. Among others, Kamruzzaman Rimon, executive member of Standard Group Merchandiser and Barura Jankalyan Samiti, Golam Rabbani, Admission Officer of International Standard University, Barura Upazila Press Club and journalist leaders spoke. Global Islami Bank Comilla Branch Manager Shahnur Alam moderated the opening ceremony.
Dhaka Barura Student Welfare Association President Nazmul Molla, General Secretary Nawab Hossain, former president Md Yasin Mia, Idris Talukdar, Md Russell, Farooq Hossain, former general secretary Shahparan, former president of Chhotulagao Women’s College Alumni Association Sabrina Jahan Shanta were present in the event. Tanveer, Hossain, Emon, Abhi, Mahadi and others.
Speakers on the occasion said that Chairman of Standard Group and Vice Chairman of Board of Trustees of International Standard University, Engineer Atiqur Rahman Barura is a gifted and talented son. He has stood by the people of Barura in various calamities. And requested to continue the service and cooperation for poor people in future also.
On December 12, 2023, 9500 sweaters, 6 sheets and 1200 socks were distributed to 15 Union Orphanages and Hafezia Madrasa along with Barura Municipality.
