An incident of stone pelting took place on the Antanagar Kalni Express train from Dhaka to Sylhet. The incident took place when the train crossed the Pairtala-Puniaut railway crossing area of Brahmanbaria municipal area around 5:30 pm on Wednesday. One passenger was injured. But his name is not known. Salahuddin Farhad, an eyewitness to the incident, said that when the train entered Brahmanbaria railway station, some people started pelting stones from both sides of the railway line at Pairtala-Puniaut railway crossing. A passenger in the ‘J’ compartment of the train was injured. At this time, the other passengers of the train kept closing the windows in fear. The window glass shattered and fell on several passengers.

Brahmanbaria railway station master confirmed the truth of the attack on the train. Jasim Uddin said that he came to know that stones were thrown at the train. However, he did not know the names of those who were injured. He said that the train stopped at Brahmanbaria station as the train was non-stop.
