Social Welfare Minister Nuruzzaman Ahmed bought the nomination form for Lalmonirhat-2 seat in the 12th National Assembly Election. His younger brother district Awami League vice-president Mahbubuzzaman Ahmed bought the nomination form for the same seat.
On Sunday (November 19) at noon, they came to the Awami League central office in Gulisthan and bought forms.
The social welfare minister and his younger brother’s purchase of nomination forms at the same time has led to adverse reactions among local activists. They say that conflict between the same family is not desirable in any way. The rift in the family from which the Social Welfare Minister is leading is not desirable at all.
Lalmonirhat-2 Constituency consists of 16 unions of Kaliganj-Aditmari two upazilas of Lalmonirhat district. Already, election excitement has spread among the government party leaders and activists. The current MP Nuruzzaman Ahmed is in the center of discussion as a candidate for boat in the next election. He was the Chairman of Kaliganj Upazila Parishad for two terms before becoming MP. Before this, the Chairman of the Union Parishad was also elected several times. However, he was defeated in 1996 and 2001 parliamentary elections. Finally, in 2014, this child of Kaliganj got a chance to become an MP.
Meanwhile, the Lalmonirhat-2 seat was occupied by the Jatiya Party for 35 years. However, Social Welfare Minister Nuruzzaman Ahmed took over this seat from Awami League. Awami League workers claim that he has made great progress in these 15 years.
Social Welfare Minister’s younger brother Mahbubuzzaman Ahmed said, I have been doing Awami League politics for a long time. So I have collected the form from Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to get the boat symbol. Hopefully he will definitely give me the boat symbol to continue the development trend.
Apart from the social welfare minister and his younger brother, former upazila chairman of Aditmari upazila parishad and senior vice president of district Awami League Sirajul Haque and joint general secretary of Aditmari upazila Nazrul Islam Mridha, 4 people have received nomination papers from Lalmonirhat-2 constituency.
