Miscreants set fire to Jamuna Express train at Sarishabari railway station in Jamalpur. The incident took place on Saturday (November 18) at 1:10 PM. Three coaches of the train were damaged.

On Sunday (November 19) around 7 am, the Yamuna Express train left for Dhaka with the three coaches damaged by the fire.

Sarishabari Railway Station Assistant Station Master Abdus Salam confirmed the matter.

According to sources of Sarishabari railway station and fire service, Jamuna Express train from Dhaka to Tarakandi stopped at Sarishabari station on time. As the train left the station for Tarakandi, miscreants set fire to one of the last compartments of the train. The fire spread within moments. The fire service brought the fire under control. Two coaches were completely burnt in this fire. Another compartment was partially burnt. The train left Sarishabari railway station at 7 am on Sunday for Dhaka with three coaches burnt by fire.

Abdus Salam, assistant station master of Sarishabari railway station, said that after clearing the line, the train was moving towards Tarakandi and heard people shouting. Later I saw a fire burning in the last compartment of the train. The fire service was immediately informed. Two compartments were completely burnt. Another is partially burnt. At 7 in the morning, the train left for Dhaka with three coaches burnt by fire.

Sarishabari Fire Service Station Senior Officer Ruhul Amin said that two compartments of the Jamuna Express train were completely burnt. Another compartment was partially burnt. On receiving the information, two units worked and brought the fire under control.

Sarishabari Thana Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mushfiqur Rahman said that it is not known who or who set fire to the train. Sarishabari police station visited the spot. Initially we are investigating and legal action will be taken depending on the investigation.
