My husband passed away 15 years ago. done I have a grandson and he lives with me. I am living in a lot of trouble with this grandson. I rented a house, but it is submerged in water. Besides, I am unable to pay the rent because there is no one to earn my income. Before this, my brother used to pay the house rent, but now he has stopped paying. . Later I thought that I would like to ask everyone to build a loft in this puhoir (pond) with bamboo poles. This place will not give me, I have been visiting my cousins for three years. I will get a place in my mother’s house. But still I have to build a house at home. When I went to them, Myra pushed me. It is not allowed to build a house by spreading bamboo sticks. After that, my cousin Siddiqur Rahman said if he takes a place, then give it above or take it there in the pond. Then what should I do, it is on my forehead. This is how the helpless widow woman Minara Begum was saying the words.
Minara Begum was married in Faridpur because her husband was sick for a long time and sold the land he had there for treatment. Her father’s house is in Raj Pasha village of Siddhakathi union of Nalchiti upazila. They have no land there no So his uncle wanted to build a house on his mother’s land and live at home. Therefore, Minara Begum and her grandson Nirab Sardar have been living for three months by building a loft with bamboo poles and polythene in the pond of the mother’s land in Sabujbagh area of Nalchiti municipality.
Helpless Minara Begum said, I have no son. She has a daughter and her son-in-law left her. My daughter lives in Chittagong. I have been in Nalchiti for three years and have gone to the member chairmen but have not received anything. I have applied twice for a government house but I have not got it. Moreover, I went for widow allowance and it says that the quota is not empty. My grandson, a 10th class student of Nalchiti Merchants Secondary School, cries a lot and doesn’t have a home. It is difficult to study. He will go to Chittagong to study and his mother will spend a lot of money there. So if someone helps me or arranges a house for me to stay then I can live in peace with my grandson.
The former panel mayor of Nalchiti municipality Moniruzzaman Monir said, the widowed woman has been living here with her grandson for 3 months by making a bamboo stilt loft and covering it with polythene on the pond. Actually, I cannot explain how helpless people are living like this. In fact, when I live on Facebook, the matter comes to the attention of many people. A journalist named Jasim Bhai from Dhaka has bought two of their teams. In fact, he needs a house to live in. In this regard, Minara Begum’s cousins could not be contacted as they were not found at home. Nalchiti Upazila Social Service Officer Md. Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury said, after seeing Minara Begum’s national identity card, if she is eligible for allowance then she will definitely be brought under the allowance.
Nalchiti Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Md. Nazrul Islam said, I did not know about Minara Begum. I will go there and see his condition. And government support will be given for that.
