In Barura, Comilla, on Tuesday, September 19, a mobile court was conducted in Barura Municipality of Barura Upazila under the leadership of Assistant Commissioner Lands and Executive Magistrate Md. Moin Uddin. At the same time, the crimes of operating hospitals and clinics without license, expired reagents, unsanitary labs, lab technologists without certificates were taken into consideration.
65,000/- under Section 45 of the Consumer Rights Protection Act, 2009 and Section 13 of the Medical Practice and Private Clinics and Laboratories (Regulation) Ordinance, 1982 were imposed on the three institutions for the offence. 5000/- to Isdo Diagnostic Center for non-renewal of license, 30,000/- to each institution for non-renewal of license to Barura Diabetic Center and Renesa Hospital, keeping expired re-agents, operating labs without adequate space and not testing with proper lab technologists. A total of 03 companies were fined Rs.65,000/-. During the operation of the mobile court, the people of some clinics closed the clinic and ran away.
Dr. Nooren Taskin Tuli, Dr. Sifat Saleh, Dr. Tanjim Majumder and a smart team of Barura police assisted in running the mobile court.
