On the occasion of Local Government Day, a grand rally and discussion meeting was held on the initiative of Mymensingh City Corporation. Today at 11 am a rally started from Nagar Bhavan and circled Kachari Mor. Md. Yusuf Ali, Chief Executive Officer of Mymensingh City Corporation presided over the discussion held at Shaheed Shahabuddin Auditorium.
At this time, he said, to provide more services to the people, under the leadership of the honorable mayor, the team work should be strengthened with everyone including the councilors and officials. Local government institutions are people’s institutions. People’s representatives come here with the mandate of people’s development. Therefore, to ensure public participation in the activities of the City Corporation, public opinion and participation is ensured through various committees.
He also said that various initiatives have been taken to ensure administrative transparency and accountability. Mymensingh City Corporation ranked 5th among local government institutions in implementation of annual performance contracts.
The Chief Executive Officer emphasized on increasing more oversight in the activities of the City Corporation at various levels. He sought the cooperation of people in this regard and said that it is not possible to ensure overall development without the cooperation of all. Under the leadership of the Honorable Mayor, Mymensingh City Corporation has taken various initiatives for the development of the people. Development should be accelerated with these initiatives.
In this event, panel mayor 03 Samima Akhtar and other councilors, regional executive officer Dipayan Das Shubo and SM Mazharul Islam, chief warehouse and purchase officer Md. Bulbul Ahmed, chief health officer Dr. HK Debnath, Supervising Engineer Md.
