A case has been filed against three people, including her boyfriend, in case of gang-rape of a girl in Rajapur Jhalkathi

A case has been filed against three people including her boyfriend Rabiul Howladar for gang-raping a 15-year-old girl in Rajapur of Jhalkathi. On Tuesday (September 12) morning, the grandmother of the girl filed a case against three people under the Prevention of Violence Against Women Act. Around 11 o’clock on Tuesday, the police sent the Kiroshi to Jhalkathi Sadar Hospital for a health check-up. However, the police have not been able to arrest anyone in this incident so far. According to the case, “Kishori’s grandmother has been living there for the last two years after getting a sheltered house in the Bara Kaivartkhali cooperative club area of Rajapur. As he was sick, his daughter’s granddaughter came to visit him a week ago. Last September 9, the girl was taken from her grandmother’s house by the pick-up driver Rabiul Howlader, the son of Yunuch Howlader of the same area, and took her to his pickup and after gradually raping her, reached her grandmother’s house around 3 am. At that time, Miraj Pada, son of Ruhul Pada and Ripon Sikder, son of Karim Sikder, of Bara Kaivartkhali Cooperative Club area were in the night hill at that place. After Rabiul left the girl, Miraj and Ripon called the girl’s grandmother out of the house and tricked her. In the meantime, Ripon sneaked into Sikda’s room and raped the girl. After the rape, Ripon came out of the house and engaged the girl’s grandmother. On that occasion, Miraj went to Pada’s house and forcibly raped the girl. In this way, Miraj and Ripon raped the girl in Palatrum for almost an hour and threatened not to tell anyone about the incident. In this incident, on the morning of September 12, the grandmother of the girl filed a case under the Prevention of Violence against Women and Children Act. The victim girl said that Mehedi, son of local Ansar member Abdul Sukkur, extorted Tk 40,000 from the accused to cover up the incident. But instead of giving me money, Mehndi and Dalai Sumon divided 20,000 taka among themselves. The remaining 20,000 taka is kept by the local shopkeeper Razzak to give to me. But Razzak gave me 20000 to 2000 taka and threatened me to leave the area and run away from Dhaka. Locals said that the permanent member of UP, Syed Suman, was running around to solve the gang rape case in exchange of lakhs of rupees. Pulak Chandra Roy, officer-in-charge of Rajapur police station, said that a case has been registered against three people under the Women and Child Abuse Prevention Act in connection with the gang-rape of a teenage girl. The girl has been sent to District Headquarters Hospital for her health check-up and efforts are on to nab the accused.
