Fake pickles are being sold in the name of Burmese pickles in Cox’s Bazar. It is difficult to see these pickles wrapped in bahari packets. Which is real and fake. Also, some sellers are cheating by inserting other pickles instead of the pickles written in the packet. As a result, tourists are being harassed and cheated by buying pickles. It has been found that these fake pickles, known as Burmese pickles, are made in unsanitary conditions all over the city of Cox’s Bazar. Pickles are prepared at home or in shops and filled in bahari packets and named Burmese pickles. After that, some vendors buy pickles at a low price and sell them around the beach. Tourists are being cheated by buying these pickles from there. Basically, the pickles that are brought to Bangladesh through Teknaf from Myanmar are the original Burmese pickles. However, these pickles are not sold anywhere except a few shops in the city’s Burmese market. A tourist named Roknuzzaman was cheated by buying pickles from Sugandha Point while visiting Cox’s Bazar last August. Buy packets of Burmese pickles. The pickle packets looked very nice. The price is also kept low. So bought some pickles and went to the room. The next day I went to Dhaka and opened the packet and saw that plums were given in the packet of mango pickle. The rest of the packets do not match the names of the pickles. Rituals cannot be given in such a dirty mouth. Later I found out that these are actually not Burmese pickles. They are cheating people by selling fake pickles at low prices. Abdul Qayyum, another tourist, said the same thing. He said that when I went to Cox’s Bazar last year, my wife bought Burmese pickles worth 10,000 taka from a shop there. Later, I went home and saw that the pickles did not exist. Basically fake pickles are being sold in the name of Burmese pickles. It was very sad to see this. It is actually very sad that tourists are being cheated in a city like Cox’s Bazar. Talking to a pickle shopkeeper at Sugandha Point, he said that there are some shopkeepers who sell fake pickles at low prices. The price of original Burmese pickles is high, so not everyone can make a profit selling those pickles. There are some tourists who buy things for a small price. Do not see original or fake. Some businessmen took advantage of that opportunity. Assistant Director (Additional Duty) of Consumer Rights Protection Department Cox’s Bazar Mokauchar Mia said, I myself am a victim. I once caught a few shopkeepers directly before taking over. Later they were cautioned for begging for measurements. But now I see its level has increased, complaints are being received from many people. As I am on additional charge, I have to visit three districts. Action will be taken against these fake pickle shopkeepers by going to Cox’s Bazar. In this regard, Cox’s Bazar District Commissioner Muhammad Shaheen Imran said, I have kept the matter in the knowledge. Action will be taken against these fake pickle traders very soon.
