A bailey bridge collapsed in Tangail’s Delduar upazila and a sand truck fell into the water. The bridge collapsed late on Friday (September 8) night in the Dullya area of the upazila when a sand-carrying truck was crossing it. Due to this, the direct road connection between Tangail and Delduar is closed. Locals said that the bridge was dangerous for a long time. A truck carrying sand was crossing the bridge on Friday night when it collapsed and the truck plunged into the river. Direct road communication with Tangail is closed. They also said that there is no permanent solution even if the bridge is broken almost every year. Locals also expressed apprehension about how long the Bailey bridge will last even if it has been repaired. Locals have to travel a few kilometers to the district town.
