Jhalkathi Nalchiti an allegation has been found against the opponent to forcibly construct a paved building on the registered land of a Saudi returnee in defiance of the court order. It has been alleged that the OC did not take any action even after the documents of the court’s direction were delivered to the OC of Nalchiti police station. Maryam Begum, wife of the victim Mojibur Rahman of Kushangal village of Nalchiti upazila, made this complaint in a press conference at the Jhalakathi Press Club auditorium on Sunday afternoon.
In the written complaint, he mentioned that there was a dispute over their land with Fakhrul Faraji alias Sona Mia and his relatives of the village of Pasarwarti Sarmahal. On May 11, the opponents announced the construction of paved structures on his land by force. In this case, when he filed a case in the Jhalkathi Assistant Judge Court, a temporary injunction was issued against the defendants. Besides, it was ordered not to construct any structure on the land until the case is settled. The opponent Fakhrul Faraji filed a civil revision of the High Court against the order of the court. The High Court ordered to maintain the status quo on the land for the next six months on August 21. When Nalchiti went to Police Station OC Muhammad Ataur Rahman with the documents, he took Mojibur Rahman and his wife Maryam Begum out of the police station. Speaking on behalf of OC Fakhrul Faraji, he said that there is no obstacle to construction work even if there is stability in the land. Since then, the opponents have been constructing concrete buildings on that land in defiance of the court’s instructions. In this situation, Mujibur Rahman has become helpless. He sought the intervention of the administration to stop the construction of paved structures in his land.
In this regard, opponent Fakhrul Faraji said, paved structures are being constructed on our own land. Opponents are making false accusations against us. Nalchiti police station OC Md. Ataur Rahman said, according to the court’s instructions, a letter has been sent to the opposition to stop the construction work on the land. If the work continues, the victims will go to court. We can follow the order given by the court.
