Like the rest of the country, the national vitamin A plus campaign will be held in Cox’s Bazar district on March 15. The campaign will run from 8 am to 4:30 pm on that day. 489,465 children in the district will receive vitamin A capsules in the campaign. Of these, 61,659 children aged 6 to 11 months will receive blue capsules and 427,806 children aged 12 to 59 months will receive red vitamin A capsules.
Cox’s Bazar Civil Surgeon Dr. Md. Mahmudul Haque gave this information at an information meeting organized by the Cox’s Bazar EPI Store conference on Tuesday afternoon. He said that in addition to administering vitamin A capsules, various nutritional messages will also be disseminated in the campaign. The Rohingya refugee camps will not be covered by this campaign. Because vitamin A capsules were administered there in December and January. Vitamin A capsules will be administered again in the Rohingya camp next June. At this time, the Medical Officer of the Civil Surgeon’s Office, Dr. Shah Fahim Ahmed Faisal, presented detailed information about the need for vitamin A capsules.
The Medical Officer (Disease Control) of the Civil Surgeon’s Office, Dr. Kaninika Dastidar, was present at the time. It was informed in the meeting that 173 family welfare assistants and 5,406 volunteers will be engaged in the campaign under the contract of 225 health assistants in 1,814 contractor centers in the district.
