4 van passengers killed in bus collision in Dinajpur

A passenger BRTC bus hit a battery-powered van standing in Ranibandar market of Chirirbandar upazila in Dinajpur. Four people were killed on the spot.

The accident happened on Tuesday (February 6) at 7:30 am. The deceased were identified as Nazrul Islam Naju (45) son of Ismail Hossain of Gwaldihi Plan market in Khansama upazila, Abdul Majeed (50) son of Azim Uddin of Gwaldihi Battali area, Natta Yang Chakma (52) son of deceased Mangsu Chakma of Harikhola village in Teknaf and Ish Esong Chakma (52) son of deceased from the same area. Saingo Chakma (45). 7-8 people were seriously injured in the accident. They have been admitted to different hospitals. The driver and helper fled after the incident. The killer is in BRTC bus police custody.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Dasmile Highway Police Station Tariqul Islam confirmed this information. He said that the van was standing in Ranibandar market with passengers. At that time BRTC bus (Dhaka Metro B-15-5493) going from Dinajpur to Rangpur hit the van. Four people were killed on the spot. Dasmile Highway Police Station and Chirirbandar Fire Service are doing rescue work after receiving the information.
