Police said they arrested 4 ‘robbers’ with weapons in separate operations in Chakaria, Cox’s Bazar. An LG and 1 round of cartridges, 1930 pieces of Yaba and a stolen battery-powered TomTom car were also recovered from them. The operations were conducted in different places of the upazila from 2 am to 4 am on Saturday (March 23).
The arrested are: Md. Tayyab (26), son of the deceased Manu Mia, resident of area number 17 of Chawkbazar DC Road, Chittagong; Mohammad Nejam (25), son of Md. Rafiq, resident of Rahattarpul area, Chittagong; Md. Shafiul Alam (24), son of Abu Shama, resident of Jhilonja Master Para area of ​​Cox’s Bazar Sadar Police Station; and Mohammad Rifat (20), son of Khair Nur Prakash Habib, resident of Bharamuhuri area of ​​Chakaria Municipality. Police said that during a separate operation, an LG and 1 round of cartridges were recovered in the Malumghat area of ​​Dulahazara in Chakaria Upazila. Two ‘robbers’ were arrested during this time. In another operation, 1930 pieces of Yaba tablets and a stolen battery-operated TomTom car were recovered from Eidmoni in Purba Baraveola Union. A case has been filed against the arrested accused. The arrested persons have been sent to the Chakaria Upazila Senior Judicial Magistrate’s Court. In this regard, Chakaria Police Station Officer-in-Charge Shafiqul Islam said that in the last 24 hours, 4 people including saboteurs, drug dealers, and armed robbers have been arrested. Cases have been filed against them under the Robbery and Narcotics Acts. Later, they were sent to the court.
