The students have given an ultimatum to resign within the next four hours of the clash between students of Dhaka University and seven affiliated government colleges and to sever all academic and administrative ties of the seven colleges with Dhaka University and formulate the outline of an independent university within 24 hours.
The students said this at a press conference organized in front of the Shaheed Minar of Dhaka College at 12 noon on Monday (January 27).
At this time, 6-point demands were put forward by the students. The demands are-
1. The Dhaka University administration should apologize for the clash between students of seven colleges including Dhaka College and students of Dhaka University and Pro-VC Mamun Ahmed should resign.
2. The police officers involved in the heinous attack on Dhaka College students, including the attack with the intention of killing Dhaka College student Rakib, should be withdrawn and departmental action should be taken subject to investigation.
3. Those involved in the ugly comments and indecent gestures made by DU students towards female students of seven colleges, including Eden College and Badrunnesa College, should be brought to justice.
4. The academic and administrative relations of seven colleges with Dhaka University should be finally terminated and an outline of an independent university should be formulated within 24 hours as per the students’ demands.

5. To resolve the situation, the incident should be resolved through an immediate meeting with the representative team of seven college students consisting of the Chief Advisor, Education Advisor, Advisor Nahid Islam, UGC member and DU VC.
6. The City Corporation roads in the area related to Dhaka University should be opened to the public.
Student representative Sajeeb said at the press conference, if our demands are not accepted within four hours, we will give a new program.
