The police arrested 4 gamblers with gambling equipment and cash in Rajnagar on the night of August 29. The arrested are Dulal Malakar (25) son of Khokon Malkar of Rajapur village of the upazila, Chalim Uddin (32) son of Almach Uddin of Chikkagao village, father- Almach Uddin, Amir Ali (40) son of deceased Taleb Ali of Kamalpur village, and deceased of Keshar Para village. Bajend Chandra’s son Pinku Chandan (25). Under the overall direction of Rajnagar Police Station Officer-in-Charge Binoy Bhushan Roy, police station SI Tofail Ahmed, ASI Akshir Mia Sangeet along with the force conducted a raid in front of the house of Nanu Mia, a resident of Chikkagaon, UP No. 2, Uttarbhag under Rajnagar police station. At this time, 5/6 unidentified people including the gambler ran away. The arrested accused are sent to the learned court along with regular case filing. On the other hand, in the special operation of Moulvibazar Sadar police station last night, the absconding accused Faruk, who was sentenced to 6 months rigorous imprisonment in the theft case named Faruk, was arrested. He is the son of deceased Abdur Rahman of Dughar village under Moulvibazar Sadar Thana. As the offense under Section 380 of the Penal Code was proved against him in the case GR 262/09 (Sadar), the learned court sentenced him to 6 months rigorous imprisonment. All the accused have been produced before the learned court through proper police escort this morning.
