On January 11, 2025, the closing and prize distribution ceremony of ’38th Bangladesh Amateur Golf Championship (BAGC)-2025′ was held at Kurmitola Golf Club, Dhaka Cantonment. Army Chief and Bangladesh Golf Federation President General Waqar-uz-Zaman, SBP, OSP, SGP, PSC attended the event as chief guests and announced the official end of the tournament and distributed prizes among the winners. After the prize distribution, the chief guest gave his valuable speech to all present. The chief guest on the occasion expressed hope that the organization of this kind of competition will play an important role in the development of the country’s golf arena and thanked all concerned for this organization. A total of 175 golfers including local and foreign players participated in this tournament. In this tournament, Nepalese amateur golfer Sadabhav Acharya was the champion, Shafiqul Islam of Bangladesh was the runner-up and soldier Sahab Uddin of Bangladesh took the 3rd place in this tournament. In the women’s singles, Bangladesh Army soldier Sonia Akhter won the champion and soldier Zakia Sultana the runner-up. In the women’s team event, Bangladesh Army’s Soldier Zakia Sultana and Soldier Sonia Akhter emerged as champions while the women’s team consisting of South Korea’s Hyung Um and Jin Suk Woon emerged as runners-up.
The closing ceremony was attended by senior military and civilian officials, CEO of Kurmitola Golf Club, Tournament Committee Chairman, Executive Committee members, foreign diplomats, sponsors and other dignitaries including players and media persons.
