The Department of Environment has fined three brick kilns named HKB, JSB and BHB (HKB, JSB and BHB) for illegally cutting mountains and using wood for brick burning in Ghumdhum Union of Naikshongchhari Upazila of Bandarban. The mobile court was conducted on Wednesday (February 5) by a joint team of Naikshongchhari Upazila Administration and the Department of Environment, Bandarban Hill District. Naikshongchhari Upazila Executive Officer Muhammad Mazharul Islam Chowdhury led the mobile court. During this time, a total of three lakh taka was collected from HKB, JSB and BHB Brick Field in three separate cases, one lakh each. During the operation of the mobile court, the kiln fire of the brick kilns was extinguished with water and the activities were stopped, and the kiln was demolished with an excavator machine. Naikshongchhari Police Station and Naikshongchhari Fire Service members participated in this operation. Officials from the Department of Environment said that the Department of Environment will continue such campaigns to protect the environment.
