3 bodies recovered in three upazilas in Cumilla

Police have recovered the bodies of three people in three upazilas of Comilla. Among them, a woman, an insurance worker and another unidentified person have been found.
The bodies were recovered from Sadar Dakshin, Laksam and Manoharganj upazilas of Comilla district from Sunday night (January 26) to Monday morning (January 27).
According to sources from Sadar Dakshin Police Station and local residents, police recovered the floating body of a man in a canal next to the Comilla-Noakhali regional highway adjacent to the prison house in Sadar Dakshin Upazila on Monday morning.
Sadar Dakshin Police Station OC Muhammad Rafiqul Islam confirmed the matter. He said, “The body had a jacket on it. When we recovered it, we did not see any injury marks or blood on the body. It is believed that he died of epilepsy. However, we cannot say anything for sure without an autopsy. Besides, the identity of the body is not yet known.”
Meanwhile, police recovered the body of Altaf Hossain (37) from Hotel Dreamland in Laksam upazila of Comilla. He worked at Pragati Insurance.
Laksham Police Station OC Nazneen Sultana confirmed the matter. She said, “We have informed his family after recovering the body. Investigations by various teams including the CID are ongoing.”
The body of a woman has been recovered from the side of the road in Banduyan village in Manoharganj upazila of Comilla. She is the wife of the deceased Ayub Ali of Banduyan village in the same upazila. Her body was recovered from the side of the road in Banduyan village around 1:30 am on Sunday.
Confirming the matter, SI Emon Hossain of Manoharganj Police Station said, “The woman lived alone in the house. Locals found her body on Sunday night and informed the police, who recovered the body.”
