Government property worth Tk 10 crore recovered in Chittagong city

Chattogram bureau:The district administration has recovered about 15th century government property in BS 1688 and 1687 dag of East Nasirabad Mauza under Panchlaish police station of Chittagong city. The estimated value of which is around 10 crore rupees. On Tuesday, September 20, in an operation led by Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate Umar Farooq of Kattali Circle, the property was recovered and the sign board was hung there. Panchlaish police station SI Shubhra Mukul along with a group of policemen cooperated in the operation.
Executive Magistrate Umar Farooq said that the property in the name of the Bangladesh government (as a government property) in the name of Abangali Neshar Ahmad Ping-Abdul Quader has been finalized in the latest BS survey. The Land Appeal Board (Full Board) case No-4-155/17 dated 20/06/2022 ruled in favor of the government regarding the said land. Even after the verdict, after receiving the news that the Bhoomidsyu gang is doing construction work on the said land, at 10 am today, September 20, Tuesday, 20th September, taking possession of the government land, the sign board was hung as the government property and instructions were given to remove the illegal construction materials within 24 hours. At the same time, a person named Humayun Kabir gave an undertaking to remove the goods by today (September 20). A developer company named ‘Rajbari Holding Limited’ was constructing a structure at the site in defiance of the government order.
Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate Umar Farooq also said that legal action will be taken against anyone who illegally encroaches on government land.
Chittagong District Commissioner Mohammad Mominur Rahman said, we are active in recovering the government land. In Chittagong Maganagar and the upazilas of the district, abandoned and unoccupied areas are being recovered. In these few days, we have rescued several crores of government land from land robbers. All concerned, including Aceland, have been instructed to rescue government land from the greed of land grabbers.
