Disabled child rapist arrested in Tangail

Tarek Rahman Tangail:Krishna Chandra Das (55), who raped a 10-year-old physically challenged girl, was arrested by Thana police in Tangail’s Nagarpur. He was arrested from Deuli village of neighboring Delduar upazila on Monday (July 25) afternoon.

Accused Krishna Chandra Das is the son of deceased Jitendra Chandra Das of Bhor Bazar village of Bekra Union of Nagarpur Upazila.

The rape incident took place on Friday (July 22) in the Bhor Bazar of Bekra Union of the upazila.
In this incident, the girl’s father filed a rape case in Nagarpur police station.
According to local residents and police sources, the victim is physically challenged. His father runs a kind of household by selling tea. Every afternoon, he leaves his daughter in the shop and goes to eat at home. On Friday, he left his daughter and went to offer Friday prayers. Later, Krishna Das came out of his shop and came to the tea shop when he went to pray. As there were no people in the market during the prayer, Krishna Das called the child girl and took her inside his shop and raped her.
In this regard, the investigating officer of the case Nagarpur police station SI Md Jahangir Alam said that the accused Krishna Chandra Das who raped the child was arrested on Monday from Deuli of Delduar upazila.
He also said that during the initial questioning, the accused Krishna Chandra Das confessed to raping the child. The accused was sent to Tangail Jail on Tuesday (July 26) through the court.
After the revelation, the local people held a protest rally demanding the arrest and punishment of the rapist.
