Md. Shafiq Dhali: National Fisheries Week started today (July 23) with the aim of making the people of the country more aware and involved in increasing the production of safe fish. In continuation of this, an exchange meeting was held today with various media workers in Ghazaria. At this time, Ghazaria Upazila Fisheries Officer (as) Md. Rafiqul Alam said, “Fish in Bangladesh is now self-sufficient in production, today fish and fish products are earning the most foreign exchange after the garment industry made in Bangladesh.” Not only that, fish provides 60 percent of the meat of the rural population.
Upazila Fisheries Officer (retd) Md. Rafiqul Alam, president of Ghazaria Upazila Press Club, spoke at the exchange meeting held at the Upazila Fisheries Officer’s room on Saturday afternoon, keeping in mind the motto “Safe fish farming, Bangabandhu’s Bangladesh”. Later, Upazila Fisheries Officer (AD) Md. Rafiqul Alam said, on the occasion of National Fisheries Week 2022, various programs were presented to the journalists throughout the week. On the occasion of the celebration of National Fisheries Week at the upazila level, he also highlighted the massive campaign through miking, banners, festoons etc. in the markets. Congratulate the success of National Fisheries Week-2022 by providing special consultancy services to fish farmers and extensive media publicity.
