World Population Day is celebrated in Rajbari


Md. Kabir Hossain, Rajbari: World Population Day was celebrated in Rajbari under the theme: World of 800 crores: Building a vibrant future by ensuring opportunities, choices and rights for all. On this occasion, at 12 o’clock in the afternoon, a large rally from the front of Rajbari District Commissioner’s office circled the main road of the city and returned to the previous place. Later, Deputy Commissioner of Rajbari Family Planning Golam Md Azam, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and ICT) Subarna Rani Saha, Principal of Rajbari Govt. Adarsh Mahila College Prof. Dilip Kumar Kar, police spoke in the discussion meeting in the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner. Super’s representative Additional Superintendent of Police (Sadar Circle) Mainuddin Chowdhury, DD NSI Md. Shariful Islam, Rajbari Sadar Hospital Supervisor Dr. SM Hannan etc.
After the discussion program awards were given in 10 categories including family planning assistant. Iftekhar Islam, Family Planning Inspector of Shaheed Wahabpur Union of Rajbari Sadar Upazila received the 1st prize.
In the discussion, the speakers said that the Department of Family Planning is playing an important role in population prevention. Population is not a burden now, if this population can be converted into skilled manpower, the country will progress further.
