Gazipur’s Konabari flyover at collision private car in 3 killed  


Riad Hossen, Gazipur: Three people were killed in a private car-motorcycle collision at Gazipur’s Konabari flyover on the Dhaka-Tangail highway. Another child was injured in this incident.

The accident happened on Friday (July 15) around 11:30 a.m. on the Tangailmukhi lane at the west end of the Konabari flyover in Gazipur city.

The deceased are Raju (32), Shahinur Rahman (30) and Shamim Mridha (30). Injured child Raisa (two and half years old) is the daughter of deceased Raju. However, their identity was not immediately known.

According to the police and locals, a private car was going towards Tangail on the west side of the Konabari flyover on the Dhaka-Tangail highway around 11:30 pm on Friday. At that time, a private car collided head-on with a motorcycle coming from the opposite direction. Two fell from the flyover and died on the spot. The passengers of the private car were also injured in the incident. The injured were rescued and taken to Gazipur Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital where the doctor on duty declared one more dead.

Injured Raisa was sent to Dhaka Paralympic Hospital. Gazipur Metropolitan Police Deputy Commissioner Md. Zakir Hasan confirmed the matter and said that the dead bodies were recovered and sent to Gazipur Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital morgue.

Also, a woman and a child died in a separate road accident at Sreepur in Gazipur on the Dhaka Mymensingh highway last night.
