Riad Hossen, Reporter: A large quantity of fake goods from several warehouses has been burnt in a fire at a separate place in Gazipur. Firefighters battled the blaze for about two hours. However, the cause of the fire and the extent of the damage are not yet known.
According to the fire service and locals, the fire started from Alamin’s false warehouse in Dewaliabari area of Konabari in Gazipur metropolis around 9.30 am on Wednesday. Later, a fire broke out in Razzak’s warehouse next door. Four units of the fire service brought the fire under control in an effort of about two hours.
On the other hand, a fire broke out in a false warehouse in Majhukhan area of Pubail in Gazipur metropolis around 5 am. Later, fire broke out in at least 12 other warehouses nearby. A total of 5 units of the fire service including 3 units of Tongi, one unit of Uttara in the capital and one unit of Gazipur brought the fire under control after trying for about an hour and a half.
Gazipur Fire Service Deputy Assistant Director Abdul Hamid Mia said several false godowns were set on fire at two separate locations in the morning, but it was not immediately clear the cause of the blaze or the extent of the damage.
