Teacher arrested in Nabinagar for sexually harassing and trying to abduct a student

Saiful Islam Robin, Nabinagar (Brahmanbaria) Correspondent: Nabinagar police have arrested Ripon Mia, an assistant teacher at Diganta Pre-Cadet School in Salimganj Union, for sexually harassing and trying to abduct an eighth grade student in Brahmanbaria’s Nabinagar. The teacher who was arrested on Sunday (03/08) has been sent to jail. The victim’s mother Lucky Akhter filed a written complaint with Nabinagar Police Station on Saturday night and the police arrested her that night. According to police sources, the eighth grade student of Salimganj ARM High School was often on the way to and from school with hot and love proposals. The matter was warned to him by the local dignitaries but he could have heated him up. On Saturday morning, the teacher was waiting in front of the school with CNG, planning to abduct him. The girl tried to get on the CNG by blocking the way to school from home. At that time, when her classmates and a teacher of a girls’ school stopped her, they threw her away and fled with CNG. Witness Debnath Mandal, a teacher at Salimganj Girls’ High School, said, “I saw the abduction scene from home and rushed to the spot and rescued the girl with the help of the students.” Regarding the abduction, Kazi Khalilur Rahman, principal of Diganta Pre-Cadet School, said that there were several allegations against him before. She has been permanently expelled from school for abducting a schoolgirl. Nabinagar Police Station Officer-in-Charge Aminur Rashid admitted the incident and said that he was arrested on the same night. He was sent to jail on Sunday.
