Workshop on Tourism in Rural Development held at Brahmanbaria

Moynul Bhuiyan, Brahmanbaria: A workshop on tourism in rural development was held at Brahmanbaria on Thursday morning with the initiative of Sadar Upazila Administration and with the support of Bangladesh Tourism Board for formulating tourism development plan of the upazila for rural socio-economic development and prosperity. Upazila Parishad Chairman Firozur Rahman Olio spoke as the chief guest at the workshop held at Sadar Upazila Parishad auditorium. Sadar Upazila Executive Officer Md. Yamin Hossain presided over the workshop and special guests were Upazila Assistant Commissioner (VM) Saif-ul Arifin, Seed Certification Officer Ali Ahmed, Upazila Vice Chairman Advocate Lokman Hossain, Women Vice Chairman Shamima Akter, Officer-in-Charge of Sadar Police Station (OC). ) Mohammad Emranul Islam, Sadar Upazila Awami League President Muktijoddha Abul Kalam Bhoiya, Brahmanbaria Press Club President Riaz Uddin Jami. Journalist Md. Arju, A.F.M. spoke in the workshop. Kausar Emran, Md. Baharul Islam Mollah, Sadar Upazila Education Officer Umme Salma, Headmaster Dewan Hafeez and others. The workshop was attended by the chairmen of 11 union parishads of Sadar upazila, officials of different departments of Sadar upazila and people of different classes and professions. Speaking as the chief guest at the meeting, Upazila Parishad Chairman Firozur Rahman Olio said there is no place for entertainment in Brahmanbaria. He emphasized on creating tourist areas for the entertainment of the people in 11 unions of Sadar upazila. Speaking at the meeting, Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Yamin Hossain said work is underway to clean and excavate the town canal flowing through Brahmanbaria town and build it as a recreation spot for the people. He said 101 illegal occupants of Khalpar have already been identified. Eviction campaigns will be launched against illegal occupants soon. He said the Sadar Upazila administration would also make arrangements for launching boats for tourists on the east bank of the Titas River along the Sheikh Hasina Road and for tourists on the Titas River.
