Distribution of bicycles among 65 students including small ethnic groups

Sohail Rana: Bicycles have been distributed among 65 students including small ethnic groups in Chapainawabganj. The Prayas Human Development Society distributed the bicycles this afternoon under the ‘Socio-Economic and Human Capacity Building Program’ of Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation-PKSF. According to the organizers, the bicycles were distributed to facilitate the students from the backward and extremely poor families including the small ethnic groups of Sadar Upazila to travel to school and to prevent interest in education, drop out and child marriage.  The 65 students are residents of Nadhai Krishnapur, Delabari and Gansapara of Gobaratla union of Sadar upazila. Among them there are 41 students from small ethnic groups. Former Private Secretary to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, former Secretary to the Ministry of Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment, now Managing Director of PKSF, Dr. Namita Haldar.
On the last day of the colorful three-day colorful program organized by the district administration on the occasion of inauguration of Padma Bridge at the old stadium of the district town, Deputy Commissioner AKM Galib Khan handed over bicycles to the students. Hasib Hossain, Executive Director of Prayas gave the welcome speech. Also present on the occasion were former Member of Parliament and District Awami League General Secretary Abdul Wadud, Additional District Magistrate Devendra Nath Urao, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Overall) Zakiul Islam and Prayas Director Mukhlesur Rahman, Assistant Director (Communications) Aleya Ferdous, Senior Deputy. Officers including Director Naser Uddin.
